Two not so good looking men making a movie. Why?!A Night at the Roxbury wasn't anything that would ever be considered even close to "funny." Sure, it had a few throwback "ha-ha" moments, but nothing even close to a laugh fest. Mainly, it should be filed under the category "dumb."
And how many movies in the next few years are going to rip off Jerry Maguire? C'mon, now. It's getting old. It was funny when Half Baked came out, but that was about it.
Regardless. A Night at the Roxbury is basically about two brothers trying to get into... You guessed it. The Roxbury. They're brushed off and pushed aside until a chance encounter with Richard Grieco (Grieco? Let's get someone that's at least had a hit in the last twenty years on screen, guys.) gets them in.
From that point on, the brothers' night is wonderful. They meet women, they schmooze with execs, you get the picture. Until the next day. The women find out that they're not rich... Dumped! The exec was supposedly drunk when he was meeting with them... Canned!
After a string of events, the brothers "break up" and go their seperate ways. One of them always getting drunk and one of them falling into the clutches of a horrible, horrible, evil woman.
But it all ends on a happy, if not stupid, note. The only reason I'm giving this movie a star is because of the ass grabbing thing. That was beautiful.
